It is a complete guideline because it not only helps you with the installation of the extension but also makes you understand the process which is necessary for an accurate functionality of our extension.

Pre-Installation Checklist for Magento Extension:
1. Disabling Cache
Navigate to: System > Cache Management
2. Disabling Compilation
Navigate to: System > Tools > Compilation.
Click the disable button.
Select Installation Method o Using Magento Connect
- Post Installation via ZIP File
3. Create Backup of Magento website with DB
Navigate to: System > Tools > Backups
Method of Installation:
Please follow ‘Manual Installation’ Method to install M-Connect Media’s Magento Extension.
Note: Do not try if you are not familiar with FTP, SSH and Magento folder structure.
Required for Installations:
- FTP/SSH access to your Magento website
- WinZip or WinRAR software
- Your M-Connect Media’s Magento extension zip file
Process:
Step 1: Download the extension package ZIP File.
Please download package file of your Magento extension from your MCONNECT
MEDIA account - https://www.mconnectmedia.com/customer/account/login/
Step 2: Unzip the extension ZIP file
Please unzip the mconnect_magento_extension.zip using WinZip or WinRAR.
Please navigate to: mconnect_magento_extension > app
Step 3: Upload the extension file
Please connect to your website using FTP or SSH and upload the entire ‘app’ folder into the Magento store root. The upload will be done in few minutes.
Note:
If you designed your Magento store using custom theme package then you need to copy the entire extension file to the matching folders.
Example: Layout Files
Our extension package structure:
app\design\frontend\default\default\layout
If you are using custom theme package then you need to put it to:
app\design\frontend\ [package]\ [theme]\layout
Step 4: You have done it!
You must need to refresh the cache for first time use only.
Please navigate to: System > Cache Management.
