The Configuration of Mconnect Pre-Order Extension Magento Extension:

Before you proceed with using the extension, you need to do the configuration of the extension as shown below:
1. Sign in to the Magento configuration panel.
2. Navigate to 'system' menu and select 'configuration' menu option.
3. Scroll down in Configuration to find 'M-Connect Media Extensions' click on 'Pre-Order'.
4. Now, configure the settings for Pre-Order, Back-Order Email, and Pre-Order Email.
Pre-Order Screen opens.
5. Pre-Order: Allow pre-order and back-order of the products in your store from this section.
- Enabled: Enable the pre-order and back-order facility at your store from here.
- Back Order Button Text: This is the name of your back-order button.
- Pre-Order Button Text: Name of the pre-order button.
- Pre-Order: Select at which location you want to provide the pre-order facility.
6. Back-Order Email: From here, configure your back-order email settings to give information to the customer about their back-order.
- Email Template for Back-Order: Select the email template to send the back-order email in the selected format to the customer.
- Sender Name: This is the name of the email sender.
- Sender Email: Sender will send the email from this email-id.
- Subject: This is the subject of the back-order email.
- Send Alerts: Activate alert to send the email notification to the customer when their back-order products become available in the store.
7. Pre-Order Email: From here, configure your Pre-Order email settings to give information to the customer about their Pre-Ordered products.
- Email Template for User: Select the email template to send the pre-order email in the selected format to the customer.
- Sender Name: This is the name of the email sender.
- Sender Email: Sender will send the email from this email-id.
- Subject: This is the subject of the pre-order email.
- Send Alerts: Activate alert to send the email notification to the customer when their pre-order products become available in the store.
Note: Admin can create the email templates from System > Transactional Emails
After performing the configuration settings, now allow the products to be preordered and back-ordered.
How to Make Products to be Pre-Order or Back-Order?
1. Navigate to Catalog>>Manage Products.
2. Double click on a product to open it.
3. Go to 'Inventory' from Product Information at left.
4. Under Inventory section, you will view Backorders/Pre-Orders field.
5. From here, select pre-order to allow customer pre-order an item. This is done for new arrival item or select back-order to allow back-order of an item when the product is out of stock.
6. Click on 'Save' to save the settings.
Now, if a product is available for pre-order, then 'Pre-Order' button will be available as shown below at storefront.
Get ‘Back-Order’ product display at a storefront as depicted below.
- Admin: After Order Placement
Now, when the customer will place an order then the status of the order can be viewed under Sales > Order.
For pre-order and back-order items, below statuses are displayed:
- Pending Pre-Order/Back-Order: Meaning that the order is placed by the customer and no action is performed by the seller.
- Processing Pre-Order/Back-Order: Meaning that, the order is being processed by the seller.
- Complete: Once the product is shipped to the customer, then the status change to complete.
