Configuration and Settings of Mconnect Gift Card Extension for Magento® 2

The Configuration of Mconnect Gift Card Extension for Magento® 2 Extension:

Before you proceed with using the extension, you need to do the configuration of the extension as shown below: 
 
1. Once you install above extension you will be required to configure settings
2. Navigate to M-connect Media > Gift Card > Configuration  
 
General:
 

• Enable/Disable Extension.
• Product types which can be bought by gift code.

Gift card options:
              

• Lifetime of gift code.
• Allow adding a custom message to a gift card.
• Allow to use the gift card, bought for themselves.
• Allow choosing the delivery date.
• Allow notifying customers before card expiration.
• Allow using gift code with coupon codes.

 
Product Page settings:
 
 

• Allow to upload customized image.
• Set maximum allowed the size of the image.
• Message max length.
• Allow preview of the gift card, It displays how gift card email looks like.        
• Specify which information should display in cart page.
• Allow showing gift card image as product image in the cart.
        

 Email options:  
 

• Email sender for all transactional emails of the gift card.
• Allow choosing gift card template.
• If an admin wants email copy to be sent to him then, he can add email addresses to ‘send a copy to’ field by comma separated.
• Set Expiry notification email template.
• Send expiry email to sender also.
• In the case of cancellation of the purchase of gift card, the purchaser will get refund and code generated for the card would be deactivated as well as the recipient of the code will be informed by regarding cancellation.
• Choose email template for refunded gift code.

How to add gift card products?

1. Navigate to M-connect Media > Gift Card > Gift card products.
2. Add product > Gift card product.

 
Please Mention the Gift Card options in product edit page

1) Card type:
 

Virtual: It is a kind of digital card and email to the recipient and no need to post physical card at all.Physical: This card must be ship to the recipient, to ship use shipping address of order associated with it. Combined: It consists of both, digital and physical. The digital card email to the recipient and physical card ship to the physical address of the recipient.

Physical: This card must be ship to the recipient, to ship use shipping address of order associated with it. Combined: It consists of both, digital and physical. The digital card email to the recipient and physical card ship to the physical address of the recipient.

          
2) Lifetime: Set number of days, within those days code, must be used.  
 
3) Code pattern:
               
To set code pattern use custom string and notation of latter {L} and notation of digit {D}
 
Eg: DEMO_{L}{L}{L}{L}_{D}{D}{D}{D}
 
It will generate code like Demo_SHKI_1389  

4) Allow message: If it set to yes, then it makes message field available in product view page.
          
5) Email Templates: You can add as many as email templates, also upload an image for that template.
 
6)  Amounts: You can add as many as amount options for the product.   
 
7) Allow Open Amount: If it set to yes then, the customer can create gift card of customs value whatever amount he likes to gift.        
 
8) Open Amount min value: And Open amount max value: If open amount is yes then need to set minimum value of card and maximum value of card
 
9) Price equal to:  
 
   The whole card amount Percent of card amount

 
 
Product detail page in Front-end :

You can find the following things in product detail page.

• Choose an amount:
  Select card amount either you can select another amount If product allows open amount.
• Select Design:
  This option allows the users to choose a design template for a particular occasion like birthday, marriage anniversary, etc. Also, user can upload a custom image if it’s allowed from the configuration.
• Compose Email: This option allows the user to specify receiver’s email address, and also allow to send some special message.
• Date to send: This option allows to select a date when gift card will be sent.
• Time zone: When the date is specified, the user has to define the time zone. According to the date of that time zone, the card will send.
• Preview: This preview button will generate a preview of the card.  You can send multiple cards of the same recipient by enormous quantity.

Once the gift card is ordered, the admin needs to generate an invoice for it; to generate gift code for the gift card product. Once order items are invoiced then gift code will be generated and it will be sent to the recipient if the delivery date is not selected.

Once gift code generated then admin can find it in gift code listing from below:

1. Navigate to M-connect Media > Gift Card > Gift codes
2. You can find below information in edit page of the gift code.

• Gift code, expiry date, initial balance, current balance, status etc.

3. Order listing: At the bottom of page order grid is there to show orders placed by using particular gift code and orders.
   

4. Ability to apply gift code in cart page.
 

How to Add Gift Card Products?

1. Navigate to M-connect media > Gift card Products
 
 

2. When the Gift card products screen open ups, Select Add products to Add new products.
 
 
3. When the new product information screen open ups, You can add additional information to it like product name, tax class, quantity, Attribute set and stock status.

4. After filling the information, click on save button to save the new gift card product.

     
How to generate gift codes?

1. Navigate to M-connect media > Gift codes.
2. Click on Gift code option.     
3. Gift code screen open ups.

4. Click on Add gift code to add code for a new product.

 
5. When New Gift code screen open ups.
6. Add Gift code information like Gift product, Initial value, Expiration date, and website.

In sender Information, You will be able to add Sender’s name, Sender email, Headline, and message.

 
7. Also in the same box, you will be able to add recipient’s information like Recipient’s name and Recipient’s Email address.
